Build Academic Confidence

Your child is already brilliant. Let’s build from there.

Louisa Glor

Welcome Parents!

I am a local Walt Whitman High School alum with a decade of teaching experience, a bachelor’s degree from Tufts University, and a master's degree from Hunter College in adolescent special education.

My speciality is in making math-phobic learners see their math strengths and find their confidence.

After many wonderful years teaching in NYC and MCPS, I am taking my experience, expertise, and dedication directly into your home as a full-time tutor.

In my spare time, I love to sing, play piano, gab with my friends on the phone, listen to podcasts while cleaning my kitchen, and cuddle with my dachshund mix, Norman.

Let me know if you're curious about tutoring for your child or you'd like to get in touch to learn more!

Tutoring at Home

  • Math

From elementary through middle school levels, I will bring out your children’s excitement for math by building on their strengths and focusing on their innate problem solving abilities.

  • Reading

Trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach to reading, I bring years of experience as a special educator to my reading instruction. Your children’s interests will be my content guide.

  • Writing

I will coach your children in mastering the foundations of writing. Whether for an assignment or application, I will guide your children from planning through the final product.

  • Executive Functioning

As an educator fluent in platforms like Google Classroom and MyMCPS Classroom, I will teach your children to navigate their workload, create systems that work, and meet their academic goals.

"My daughter's work improved dramatically, but the biggest benefit was her growing confidence and renewed interest in math. Ms. Glor has a true gift for reaching kids of all levels and explaining the most complicated subjects in a clear way."
